Preserving the print cartridges
• Keep a new cartridge in its packaging until you are ready to install it.
• Do not remove a cartridge from the printer except to replace, clean, or store it in an airtight container. The
cartridges do not print correctly if left exposed for an extended period of time.
• Keep the photo cartridge in its own storage unit when not in use.
• When a photo cartridge is in use, you may store the black cartridge in the empty photo cartridge storage unit.
Cleaning the scan lens and white roller
If you notice poor image quality in scans, faxes, or copies, you may need to clean the scan lens and the white roller.
1 Unplug the power cord and the phone line from the wall.
2 Open the control panel.
